Site: Dairy product manufacturing plant in Europe.
Our client is a major European manufacturer of dairy products (butter, cheese, powdered milk).
Odor treatment installed:
In order to control the odors generated by a buffer tank at the wastewater treatment plant, we installed a dry steam treatment system.
The buffer tank is covered with a tarpaulin. An extraction fan draws in the contaminated air before it is discharged through a stack. An activated carbon filter is installed between the extraction fan and the stack.
A VS200P dry-steam cabinet (1 nozzle) was installed. The nozzle is positioned beneath the tarpaulin. A low-flow odor-neutralizing reagent is continuously vaporized (50 ml/h) to neutralize odors at the source (under the tarpaulin) before dispersion (extraction through the stack).
The decision to spray beneath the tarpaulin (rather than into the stack) is driven by improved contact time and therefore greater effectiveness in reducing odor units.
