Soils are frequently impacted by human activities and can thus present risks for the environment and population. Contaminated by various compounds (heavy metals, organic
compounds such as hydrocarbons, etc.), polluted soils affect groundwater, surface water and the human body through the skin, ingestion and inhalation.
WESTRAND INTERNATIONAL accompanies different companies specialized in soil decontamination at 40 to 60 sites per year.
At the beginning of 2022, we implemented a solution to neutralize odor nuisances on a construction site located in the downtown area of Luxeuil-les-Bains.
We installed 100 m of 316 stainless steel high pressure ramp to create an odor barrier between the construction site and the neighborhood.
Spraying an odor neutralizing reagent at low concentration provided the control of nuisances during the whole duration of the construction works.
Our system was made frost-free by installing an electrical trace and thermal insulation in order to ensure operation in sub-zero temperatures (around -10°C at night).
